The BRICS Entrepreneurs Alliance (BEA) today welcomed the initiative of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Mizoram, Pu Lalduhoma, to convene a high-level meeting with BEA and its network of Indian and international companies to explore opportunities for investment, technology collaboration and sustainable economic development in Mizoram.

The meeting was held at the Chief Minister’s Conference Hall and was chaired by the Hon’ble Chief Minister. A delegation of BEA representatives and several companies associated with BEA participated both physically and online from India and overseas, presenting technology, investment and development opportunities relevant to Mizoram.

The meeting follows an earlier interaction on 7^th August 2026 at Mizoram House, New Delhi, when Hon’ble Rajya Sabha MP from Mizoram, Pu K. Laltluangkima, invited Dr. Bhaskar Jyoti Sonowal, Global President & CEO, BRICS Entrepreneurs Alliance, to meet the Hon’ble Chief Minister and brief him on BEA, its international network and its ability to bring global companies, investors and technology partners to Mizoram. 

During the meeting, Dr. Bhaskar Jyoti Sonowal presented BEA's vision of positioning Mizoram as a strategic gateway for investment, technology, tourism, sustainable development and international business, leveraging the State's unique natural resources, geographical location, human capital and cultural heritage.

The participation of companies from India and abroad demonstrated BEA's ability to connect the Government of Mizoram with technology providers, investors, project developers and businesses from different international markets.

The discussions covered several priority areas identified by the Government of Mizoram, including:

• AI-enabled carbon credits and carbon markets
• Carbon-removal projects, ARR, Blue Carbon, BECCS and Biochar
• Afforestation, environmental conservation and restoration
• Tourism development and international destination marketing
• Ginger processing, value addition and international market access
• Advanced agricultural and horticultural technologies
• Micro-drip irrigation and climate-controlled agriculture
• Drone-enabled logistics and security solutions
• Technology-driven livelihood creation and rural economic development
• Attracting private investment into Mizoram

The Government of Mizoram has identified carbon trading, ginger processing and tourism as important areas in which cooperation with BEA can be taken forward. The Hon’ble Chief Minister also appreciated BEA's continued engagement and follow-up on the discussions.

Mizoram as an Experience-Led Tourism Destination

BEA also presented its perspective on developing Mizoram as a differentiated international tourism destination.

Rather than directly competing with established destinations such as Goa, Kerala and Kashmir, BEA proposed positioning Mizoram as an experience-led destination, built around its natural environment, indigenous culture, unique landscapes, community experiences and authentic lifestyle.

BEA identified high-net-worth urban travellers, corporate and technology professionals and Gen Z travellers as important target segments for a focused international tourism strategy.

International participants also presented potential solutions for Mizoram. FloratBio, Russia, presented opportunities for the application of bio-stimulant technologies in agriculture, while proposals relating to tourism promotion and development, carbon projects and advanced agricultural technologies were also discussed.

An international technology company from Israel, WEKAH Technologies Ltd. presented opportunities in areas including micro-drip irrigation, climate-controlled greenhouses, drone-enabled logistics and security solutions.

Discussions on ginger focused not only on processing and value addition within Mizoram but also on creating pathways to take Mizoram's processed ginger products to international markets.

Speaking after the meeting, Dr. Bhaskar Jyoti Sonowal, Global President & CEO, BRICS Entrepreneurs Alliance, said: “BEA is committed to working with the Government of Mizoram to translate global technology, investment and entrepreneurial capabilities into tangible opportunities for the people of the State. Mizoram has extraordinary potential in sustainable tourism, agriculture, carbon markets, environmental conservation and technology-led development. Our objective is not merely to bring companies to Mizoram, but to build long-term partnerships that create investment, employment, exports and sustainable livelihoods.”

He further stated that BEA would work closely with the Government of Mizoram and relevant departments to evaluate the proposals presented, identify suitable projects and facilitate credible Indian and international partners for their implementation.

The meeting was moderated Hon’ble Rajya Sabha MP Pu K. Laltluangkima and attended by the Minister for Horticulture Pu C. Lalsawivunga, Minister Pu Lalthansanga, Minister for Environment, Forests & Climate Change Pu P.C. Vanlalruata, , Advisers to the Chief Minister and senior Government officials, along with BEA representatives and participating companies.

BEA believes that the meeting marks an important step in moving from dialogue to project implementation. The Alliance will continue to coordinate with the Government of Mizoram, its departments and participating companies to develop actionable proposals, technology partnerships, investment opportunities and international market linkages.
